Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray is now a confirmed guest at Communities United For Action’s open meeting on Saturday, so anyone who is struggling to pay their mortgage, is a victim of a foreclosure rescue scam or over their head with the Payday lenders should come to to hear what Congressman Steve Driehaus and Attorney General Richard Cordray are doing at the federal and state levels and share your opinions on what should be done. Foreclosure experts are on hand in CET’s studio to take calls through Friday, October 16. The toll-free number for getting trusted assistance is: 1-877-7 BUZZ US (1-877-728-9987). Also, on Thursday, October 15, CET, WVXU and WMUB will simulcast a live program featuring experts from the Federal Reserve Bank, Home Ownership Center, and Legal Aid. They will discuss various aspects of the mortgage crisis, including how to work with your lender in times of fiscal crisis.

During a press conference held 10/2/2009 at CET, elected officials, including U.S. Treasurer Rosa Rios, Rep. Steve Driehaus, Mayor Mark Mallory and Hamilton County Commissioner David Pepper, and representatives from various national and community organizations came together to announce the foreclosure prevention activities taking place around Greater Cincinnati in October.
Activities include education of local foreclosure prevention counselors on The Making Home Affordable program, a three day Foreclosure Prevention Phone-a-Thon beginning on October 14, and an opportunity for Phone-a-Thon callers to have a scheduled face-to-face meeting with their lender or counselor.
